Video call help for seniors in Omaha

Seeing family on a screen is one of the best things a phone or tablet can do. I'll set up the app your family uses and make a practice call with you, so the next one is easy.

What I can help with

  • Set up FaceTime on an iPhone or iPad
  • Install and set up WhatsApp
  • Join Zoom or Google Meet calls from a link
  • Add family members so calling is one tap
  • Fix 'they can't see me' and 'I can't hear them'
  • Find a good spot for the phone or tablet
  • Practice a real call before the big one

Which app should I use?

Use whatever your family already uses. FaceTime works between Apple devices. WhatsApp works on almost any phone. Zoom and Google Meet are common for doctor visits and group calls. Ask your family first, and I’ll set up the same one.

Tips for better calls

  • Use Wi-Fi when you can.
  • Prop the phone or tablet at eye level.
  • Sit facing a window or lamp, not with the light behind you.

My free guide, How to video call your grandkids, walks through the steps.

Questions

Do video calls cost money?

FaceTime, WhatsApp and Google Meet are free over Wi-Fi. On mobile data they use some of your data plan.

Can you set up my tablet so the grandkids can call me?

Yes. I'll add them to your contacts and make sure you hear the call when it rings.

Can you help me join a doctor's video visit?

Yes. I can show you how to open the link and test your camera and sound before the appointment.
